Catastrophe risk modelling firm RMS has appointed Oliver Nieswandt as managing director of Continental Europe.

Nieswandt brings a wealth of senior-level experience in areas ranging from insurance and risk management to underwriting. He previously worked with Hannover Re and SAP, where he held senior roles including global client director for Allianz and Munich Re. He also led teams at HCL AXON (as the DACH insurance practice leader), and Dell (where he led BFSI for DACH).

At RMS, Nieswandt will take up the role of Christer Pehrson, who is completing his assignment in Europe and, after a handover period, will be returning to the US and be based in the RMS New York office. Nieswandt will be based in the RMS Zurich office.

“I am excited to have Oliver joining the RMS team as he brings a wealth of experience in insurance, software, and services to our business,” RMS executive vice president Neil Isford said. “Oliver is viewed by his former managers, employees, and customers as an excellent collaborator, who is very focused on developing and supporting his team, as well as being a strong advocate for his clients.”
